Wedding Planning: Fun Over Frenzy
We get it.
Planning a wedding can be a very stressful experience. Not only is planning such a big event a lot of work – we know, we make it look easy – but this is the BIG day. The day you’ve been daydreaming about since grade school. But, unlike for us, this is not your day job. So how do you not only plan your dream day, but enjoy doing it?
As wedding planning experts, here are our three biggest suggestions for smooth sailing right up to the altar.
1. Stick to your budget. Nothing will stress you out more than breaking the bank before you embark on a huge new step in life. Remember that the best weddings are one’s that reflect your deep love for each other, are elegant but not too extravagant and focus on the memories, not the magnitude of flowers.
2. Hire a wedding planner. Not to toot our own horn, but having a professional’s advice, expertise and connections to take care of business is definitely a worthwhile investment. In fact, we’ve talked to many a mother-of-the bride who confirmed that hiring a wedding planner was the best move they made in the wedding planning process. It allows you to enjoy your engagement and make memories on your day with friends and family, sans the worry of ensuring that your DJ will show up on time.
3. Make time for dates with your significant other. Yes, we said make time. At the end of the day, your wedding and engagement is about celebrating your relationship with this special person. He/she should be your biggest focus. Not the invitations, the bridesmaids dresses, or the venue.
