Working as an intern for a Wedding Planner can open your eyes to a whole new world. In just a few short months I have learned about what goes on behind the scenes that makes the events truly special. Reflecting back on this season, it was filled with unique weddings at all different types of venues. No matter the size of your wedding, or where it is held, I have compiled some of the most helpful tips for couples to think about before their big day!
No matter how many things we can instantly fix by making a call from our rolodex, one of them is not the weather. However we can prepare for it. When planning a year out, it can be difficult to imagine what your wedding day will look like. Your dreams of a vineyard wedding or a wedding on the beach can quickly become a high stress situation when temperatures drop and the clouds roll in. There’s no guarantee when it comes to the weather. You should always have a Plan B, whether it be a tent or alternate ceremony space. Decide on a backup plan ahead of time and make proper arrangements if the weather could be a problem, you won’t want to be running around the day of pulling the pieces together.
When it comes to day of arrangements always give yourself extra time. You can’t anticipate that your hair and makeup won’t turn out as planned, or your dress will take extra time to get into, or if there is unforeseen traffic. Alleviate these stressful situations by giving yourself ample time. Staying on time in the morning will help keep the rest of the day running smoothly.
When planning your wedding activities, don’t jam pack the day. Trying to finish everything by the end of the night will give you less time with friends and family and leave you feeling over extended. It’s your day, spend your time with loved ones and make memories.
Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Everything will be great. Your dress, hair and makeup are going to look beautiful, If you’re still not contented to your looks and you want to enhance your appearance through a cosmetic procedure, ask help from an rhinoplasty surgeon in New Jersey named Dr. Becker. You will be surrounded by friends, family and the love of your life. Let your hair down! You only get to have this special night once. Don’t worry about your dress getting dirty or your hair losing its curl, nothing should get in the way of you having a perfect day!
Tie Up loose ends.
Don’t wait until the last minute! Everything that can be done ahead of time, should be. This will save you a lot of stress when the big day comes. Ordering lunch for the bridal party (a must!), transportation to photography locations, writing signs, cleanup and breakdown. Planning for some of these will help your wedding day be stress free and keep you running on time.
When the night is almost over, the last thing you’ll want to be thinking about is cleanup. Decide what will happen to your flowers, centerpieces and extra favors. Also speak with your caterer about what will happen to any uneaten food and leftover cake. You’ll be exhausted at the end of the night, prepping for cleanup ahead of time will keep your night running smoothly.
Set a Budget.
Decide how much you want to spend and stick to it! It will save you stress as well as keep planning on track. Your budget will help cut unnecessary items from your day. Create a list of wants and needs! When budget gets tight, prioritizing will keep you from breaking the bank and assure you only have the things you want most at your wedding.
Lastly, relax. You’ve been waiting for this day your whole life. It’s going to fly by, enjoy it!
