From Seashells to Seychelles: How To Make Your Beach Dreams Come True Without the Hassle of the Beach
If you grew up anywhere near the ocean, or just love the sound of the waves and feel of the sand beneath your feet, the beach seems like one of the most romantic places to tie the knot.
Sometimes we forget that our most precious moments at the beach are when we’re on vacation – no need to brush tangled hair, no worries about sand all over the car, and definitely no concern about getting too much sun.
A wedding is a slightly different ordeal. There is a lot more to think through. Will it rain? Will the day be too hot or too breezy? What kind of sunscreen should I wear so that it doesn’t stain my dress?
Before you’re completely turned off from showing your love of all things sea-related on your wedding day, consider bringing the beach to your venue!
We love these fun, gorgeous and East Coast themed decor ideas for your big day.
First, invitations. Add a nautical theme! Check out the one below. So cute.
Or this one? See the detail on the outside: white gauze and a small starfish.
Speaking of starfish, these sea creatures make elegant wedding decorations. Add them to line the room of the ceremony, place them at reception tables, or just make an assortment. The clean, white simple star look is stunning.
Don’t forget the sand! This is a key element of having the seaside feel, but unlike the beach, this sand is contained. Candles in the sand below give a glowy romantic accent.
These sand color napkins are the perfect accent to a beach theme too.
An increasingly popular idea is the sand ceremony. Some couples choose to do this to physically symbolize their union as husband and wife.
However you decide to incorporate your love of all things ocean and beach, have fun with it! And if you decide the only way to go is authentically at the beach, we’ve got a whole host of ideas to make that a success as well.
