Best Long Island Castle & Estate Wedding Venues
Have you found yourself dreaming of saying your vows on the lawn of a castle or a great estate? Look no further. We have five perfect castle-like dream wedding venues for your vow exchange (or renewal!) and they’re practically in your backyard.
1. Oheka Castle Hotel and Estate. Huntington.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t shine a spotlight on Oheka Castle. As one of the most prestigious venues in the country, it has hosted celebrity nuptials such as those of Kevin Jonas and Joey Fatone and also served as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s inspiration for Gatsby’s estate in his famed novel The Great Gatsby. It can accommodate up to 400 guests in it’s luxurious terrace dining room. Everything from the gardens to the regal architecture are enough to make any couple swoon at the real life fairytale locale, but before you get too swept off your feet, we should also include that Connecticut Post reports the average wedding here costs $57,343. Definitely princess status.
2. Old Westbury Gardens. Westbury.
If Oheka Castle is not quite within your budget, we suggest Old Westbury Gardens, a lovely garden oasis. Ceremonies are held in the Garden of Appreciation, a beautiful, tranquil spot located on the east side of the Walled Garden. The trellis there provides the perfect set for a bride and groom to exchange their wedding vows.
3. Bourne Mansion. Oakdale.
Only located 60 minutes from New York City, this dreamy mansion is ideal for a large or small formal affair. It’s stunning views, antique storybook interior and beautiful outdoor gardens would be a dream ensemble for any girl’s big day.
4. Coindre Hall. Huntington.
Otherwise known as the Chateau at Coindre Hall, this building is a 40-room, 80,000-square-foot mansion in the style of a medieval French chateau constructed in 1912. This smaller venue can comfortably accommodate for 200 guests in it’s lavish halls and outdoor terrace and cocktail area. With the Huntington Harbor in the backdrop, the beaches and the extensive grounds are also perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony where you’ll capture memories for a lifetime.
5. Glen Cove Mansion. Glen Cove.
This lovely estate gets over-the-top reviews for it’s beauty, charm and accommodating staff. Slightly larger than Coindre Hall, it accommodates for up to 250 guests, all of whom have the option of staying right in the estate. It’s also conveniently thirty minutes from New York City by car and rail, and close to JFK International and LaGuardia Airports. But with 55 secluded acres of gardens, expansive lawns and biking trails, along with an inner spa retreat, your guests might want to relax here for a vacation of their own.
Wherever you hold your wedding ceremony and reception, we hope it makes you feel like a princess on your day. Need a little help with that? We are all about taking the reins and letting you ride in the horse-drawn carriage up until to the day of your wedding.
